About Mika

Meet Mika, a sweet and sassy senior cat looking to embark on the next fun chapter of her life. At 14 years old, she peacefully coexisted with a small dog in her previous home and is ready for a loving family to spend her golden years with. Mika is FIV positive, which is a cat-only virus that doesn’t affect humans or dogs. Contrary to common misconceptions, FIV+ cats often lead long, happy, and healthy lives without noticeable symptoms. It’s worth noting that FIV is not easily transmitted to other cats. If you’re considering bringing an FIV+ cat like Mika into your home and have non-FIV+ cats, consult with your vet for the best guidance. If you’re ready to welcome Mika into your life, you can adopt her in two ways. Visit in person during open adoption hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 12:30 to 3:00 pm, to meet her at the shelter. You also have the option to adopt remotely or place a 24-hour hold for just $25 by contacting the shelter directly. The adoption fee for Mika is $50, and it includes spaying, vaccinations, a blood test, and more. Most pets receive additional medical care, and your vet may suggest further health steps following your adoption. Thinking about adding a unique, loving companion? Mika is waiting for you! Make her next chapter the best yet.
