About Nell CA
Meet Nell! Fostered near the coastal Santa Cruz Mountains in California, this 6-month-old female Border Collie is as sweet as they come. Nell arrived from a rural shelter, shy and fearful, but in just a month, she has transformed significantly. She adores her foster siblings and is slowly building confidence with new people, often happily following her foster dad around. True to her breed, Nell is smart, active, and a fast learner. While sheβd make a fantastic hiking buddy, regular walks wonβt suffice for her active mind and body. This pup needs stimulation through structured training or a job, and she does have some initial interest in sheep. However, it's still early to determine if she'll become a working stock dog. Nellβs ideal home would be with an experienced handler familiar with active herding breeds and equipped with a securely fenced yard. No apartments or high-density housing would suit her, as she thrives best in a quieter environment. Another playful, confident dog would make a great companion, since she loves bonding, playing, and sharing toys. Though Nell is house trained and makes strides in her training, she may need time to adjust to a new home. Prospective adopters should be patient, allowing her to feel secure. Nell is up to date on vaccines and will be adopted with a spay contract. This special girl has so much potential and deserves an active, loving family to help her thrive. Ready to meet Nell?
