Meet Harry! This sweet, scruffy little guy is a charming mix of Yorkshire Terrier and Shih Tzu, estimated to be two to three years old. Weighing about 12.5 pounds, he has a delightful wiry coat and a personality that's growing brighter each day. Harry came to us as part of a rescue alongside other dogs and might even be the dad to another resident dog, Yeti. Adapting to a new life, Harry is learning how to walk on a leash; he’ll need a securely fenced yard to help him explore safely. Initially shy with new people, he warms up quickly, especially to women, growing more confident as he realizes he is in a safe space. Once he trusts you, he becomes an affectionate companion, happily snuggling and even rubbing against you like a cat. Right now, Harry loves the quiet life of couch cuddles but may eventually enjoy walks as he builds his confidence. House trained and crate trained, Harry is adjusting well to routine. He barks with excitement when his foster parents return home and is calm on car rides. While friendly with other dogs, he might also thrive as an only pet, soaking up all the love. Harry's ideal home would be a calm one without young children, though he has had positive interactions with a dog-savvy child. With a medium coat that requires some grooming, patience will be key when it comes to his face grooming, as he is still building trust. Neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention, he is currently in good health. Harry tested positive for exposure to Lyme disease but shows no symptoms. Potential adopters should consult with their vet for any follow-up care.
