About Charlie
Charlie is a charming little fellow, around two to three years old, who weighs about 12.5 pounds. A delightful mix of Chihuahua and Shih Tzu, he boasts a sleek coat and a petite build, complemented by his soulful eyes. His striking black-and-white coat adds to his charm and makes him stand out. Coming from a difficult past where he roamed freely with many other dogs, Charlie is learning to embrace the comforts of home life. Once shy, his happy nature shines bright when he feels secure, and he enjoys being near those he loves. A recent highlight for him was joyfully carrying around a stuffed toy—his first taste of playing like a true pet. Though Charlie may need some time to adjust to new faces, he quickly warms up with patience. His ideal home will have a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore while continuing to build his confidence. He is learning to walk on a leash and is making great strides in housetraining and crate training. Car rides can be a bit stressful for him, so using a crate is advised for now. Charlie loves the company of friendly dogs and is fostered with his brother Harry; while they have their squabbles, they truly enjoy each other's presence. He hasn’t been tested with cats, and a calm home without young children would be best, though he’s done fine with dog-savvy kids. With a bit of patience, Charlie will reward you with his playful spirit and loving companionship. This little guy seeks a cozy place to nap, a yard to explore, and someone to celebrate his little victories with him. Adoption donation is $300.
