About Tamiami
Tamiami is a resilient, specially-abled sweetheart who has won over hearts since arriving at CAC in August 2024 after being struck by a car. Thanks to a dedicated foster and our medical team, she has regained her strength and spirit on four wheels, thriving in her new life. Tami loves to roll through the neighborhood in her wheelchair, bask in the sun while relaxing in the backyard, and educate kids about resilience during her school visits. This total cuddlebug adores people, relishes quiet chew time with her Benebones, and is crate trained, though she prefers a pen setup. With other dogs, Tamiami maintains a calm demeanor; she tolerates playful pups but isn't interested in doggy playdates. She is fantastic with every child she meets but must go to a no-cat home. Despite her needs, Tamiami eats well, settles nicely when you leave, and enjoys cozy naps next to the fireplace as it cools. She does require ongoing care, including bladder expressions several times daily and a special diet for urinary support. Continued rehab isn’t mandatory but has been beneficial for her mobility. If you’re searching for a gentle companion who embodies joy, gratitude, and determination, Tamiami is the one. She has an abundance of love to give and is ready to find her forever home.
