Buttercup
AvailableButtercup is a female domestic short hair kitten. She's a baby and is ready to explore her new world. Currently living in Dedham, MA, Buttercup is spayed and up to date on all her vaccinations. Although she needs time to acclimate, she has a medium size and is looking for a home that can offer her patience and love.
About Buttercup
Meet Buttercup! She was born outside and joined us through our Community Cats program. Because of her limited human interaction, she will require a patient transition into your home. Prepare for some hiding at first; we suggest confining her to a crate for a short time. This way, she can familiarize herself with her surroundings while feeling secure. If you donβt have a crate, we can lend you one until sheβs ready to roam. Transitioning can be scary and some backsliding in behavior may occur. With some time and love, Buttercup will learn to feel secure in her new environment. Make sure to engage with her several times a day, using wet food as a positive reinforcement. If she finds hands a bit intimidating, you can start by feeding her by hand. Pairing food with handling will help her associate human touch with good things. If you have a friendly cat at home, they can ease her transition and help her adjust. Buttercup is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and has seen our veterinarian. She is ready for a loving home that will give her the time she needs to settle in. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
