About Penn
Penn is an eight-year-old English Pointer currently enjoying life in Bridgeton, NJ. After relocating from Sweet Home Alabama, he’s ready to find his forever home. Living with four other dogs, Penn gets along well with his foster siblings. He’s playful and friendly, eagerly approaching new dogs on trails for a quick sniff before returning to his favorite pastime of hunting lizards and chasing birds in the yard. Off-leash, he has an excellent recall and is learning to check back with his foster mom during their walks—she may not be fast, but she has treats! When it comes to strangers, Penn is sociable; he gently approaches new people on the trail, relishing the attention and affection. Though he hasn’t met any cats, he might be inclined to chase if they run. At home, he remains calm and curious, occasionally exploring the kitchen for interesting finds. A fan of car rides and new adventures—especially in quieter places—Penn is looking for a forever family who understands his needs. He’s house trained, crate trained, and well-behaved when alone, especially after a good walk. Ideal for someone who enjoys easy-going companionship and outdoor fun, Penn would thrive in a home with another dog and a spacious yard. Please note, due to previous injuries, he requires moderate exercise and will need medication for a heart murmur. If you’re looking for a gentle companion to share adventures and quiet moments, Penn could be the perfect match. Make his next chapter a happy one by applying today!
