Hammond is still learning about his new environment, but with the right support, he'll become a loving companion.

About Hammond

Hammond arrived at the shelter on June 25, 2026, brought in by a community member. This gentle, shy boy was found as a stray, so we don’t have a lot of information about his past. He is still adjusting to his new surroundings and learning that the world can be a safe place. While initially hesitant, Hammond warms up with soft voices, patience, and some tasty treats, revealing his sweet, wiggly personality. Hammond has a distinctive head tilt, the cause of which is unknown; it may stem from a congenital condition or an old injury. His future adopter should plan for a visit to a veterinarian for follow-up care. Hammond would thrive in a calm, caring home that provides the time and support he needs to feel secure and loved. At the San Diego Humane Society, Hammond has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, and he’s eagerly waiting for his forever home.
