El was abandoned on the streets of Dallas, suffering from a poorly healed fractured leg and multiple scars, while caring for a litter of puppies. Despite her frightening past, she showed her courage by nurturing her babies until they found their forever homes. Now, El is in a loving foster environment, soaking up security and affection she so desperately needs. Initially uncertain of humans, El has a desire to be loved and cherished. She is gentle and enjoys playing outside, displaying her unique personality through her colorful coat. While sudden movements or loud noises can startle her, she seeks reassurance from her humans when things calm down. El walks easily on a leash, although she still needs support when encountering fast cars. She is both potty and crate trained, learning quickly what is expected of her. To flourish, El needs a steady home with another dog to help her with continued socialization. She is friendly with both dogs and cats and thrives in a predictable environment. El requires a family patient enough to show her that humans can be trusted. With your help, she can learn that outstretched hands offer kindness instead of fear.
