About Sugar
Meet Sugar, a sweet dog whose name perfectly reflects her personality! Building trust with her will take time, patience, and a calm demeanor, but eventually, you might find her nestled in your lap—this 50-pound pup loves to cuddle. Previously, she lived primarily outdoors in a fenced yard, coming inside only at night. Around her former owner’s grandkids and another dog, she was friendly and get along well. One of her favorite activities is chewing, so it’s a good idea to have a variety of toys with different textures available for her enjoyment. Sugar can be skittish and nervous, especially around newcomers, so it's important to create a welcoming atmosphere where she can approach at her own pace. We recommend any potential adopters—two-legged and four-legged alike—visit with her first for a meet-and-greet at our shelter. You won't regret the joy this affectionate dog will bring into your life.
