About Viggo
Meet Viggo, a gentle giant in need of a new beginning. This beautiful Great Dane found himself with the Maxx & Me family after arriving at Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center in distressing condition. He was severely underweight and anemic, dealing with painful ear infections and battling heartworm disease. At one critical point, Viggo even required a blood transfusion, highlighting the depths of his suffering. Despite the scars from his past, including broken teeth from attempting to eat rocks, Viggo continues to fight for his future. Thankfully, recent veterinary assessments revealed no signs of cancer, and while his heartworm treatment is on the horizon, his health is beginning to stabilize. Currently, he’s safe with his foster, Sharon, who selflessly took him from the shelter and brought him to North Bay Animal Hospital. There, Viggo is receiving the care he desperately needs and is settling into the warmth of a loving home. Recovery for Viggo will not be quick, requiring veterinary follow-ups, nutritious meals, and time to heal. He does not get along with other dogs, making it essential for him to find a dedicated adopter willing to provide a loving, single-dog household.
