About Twix
Twix is a sweet pup ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a loving family. Currently undergoing treatment to become heartworm-free, she is in a process that is completely manageable and results in dogs leading long, happy lives after recovery. Heartworms are only transmitted through mosquito bites, so there’s no risk to your current pets through normal interactions. Twix seeks a calm, loving home where she can focus on healing. She thrives in a quieter environment that allows for plenty of naps, cuddles, and relaxation while her body recovers. Activity restrictions during this time are crucial but temporary, helping her regain strength and confidence. Many families find adopting a dog in treatment to be one of the most rewarding experiences. For those living within 60 miles of Kansas City, there’s a foster-to-adopt option, allowing you to bond with Twix while she heals and our rescue continues to provide medical support. What she needs is not perfection, but a patient and loving environment to heal. Her adoption fee includes all the essentials: age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, and deworming treatments. If interested, visit us at our shelter or through our foster network to meet Twix and see if she’s the right fit for your family. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
