Meet Adira, a remarkable 11-month-old German Shepherd in search of a special hospice home. Born with a serious congenital heart condition, including an atrial septal defect and pulmonic stenosis, she takes atenolol daily to manage her heart rate. Sadly, her prognosis is limited, with an estimated 6 months to 2 years left. Adira also has a neurological wobble that affects her gait, yet her spirit remains unbroken. She loves to explore and play, enjoying every moment spent with her loved ones. Initial shyness makes her timid around new people, but with patience, she transforms into a fiercely loving and loyal companion. Adira gets along well with other dogs and cats, making her an ideal fit for a calm, loving home. While hospice adoption is a difficult choice, it offers Adira the chance to experience comfort and love in a family setting. She doesn’t need a lifetime—just the warmth of companionship for her remaining time.
