Meet Opie, a gentle 1-year-old Snowshoe who's slowly finding his confidence again. He came to the shelter with his brother Jax after their loving owner could no longer care for them. While both brothers are adapting to shelter life, they're handling the transition differently. Opie arrived a bit shy and unsure, but he has been working hard to adjust. Opie has made wonderful progress. Initially, he prefers a little quiet time to settle when meeting new people. Once he feels safe and you respect his space, his true personality shines through. He leans in for gentle interactions and accepts treats from your hand. If you bring out a wand toy, his playful side comes alive, revealing the curious cat we know he can be. Opie may not greet adopters right away, but he will truly thrive in a patient, understanding home. He's resilient and eager to trust again. With time, consistency, and kindness, Opie will blossom into the affectionate, playful companion he once was. If you believe that sensitive cats deserve love and opportunity, Opie is ready for you. He’s looking for a home where he can build confidence and feel safe. Opie's adoption fee is waived, supporting his medical care and preparing him for adoption.
