About Ryder

Meet Ryder, a four-year-old Irish Doodle, a mix of 3/4 Standard Poodle and 1/4 Irish Setter. Weighing in at about 55 pounds, he’s a medium-sized dog with a beautiful curly coat in shades of red and chestnut. Ryder is fully house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. He listens well and has great recall, making him a joy to have around. It's important to note that Ryder does best in a cat-free home, as he has a tendency to chase cats. He gets along well with most dogs, however. Though he loves people, he doesn't quite recognize children as equals and may not respect their space. Therefore, a dog-savvy home that can provide gentle but firm guidance is best for him. Grooming can be a bit of a challenge for Ryder due to past trauma, but he accepts a muzzle readily and does really well with one. It would be ideal for him to find a family comfortable with at-home grooming. Ryder is neutered and has his vaccinations up to date. If you're looking for a loyal and intelligent companion, Ryder might be the perfect fit. He’s waiting for his forever family in Lucedale, MS. Your new best friend is just one click away.
