About Gertie
Gertie is a young male dog currently battling some health challenges. He arrived bright and alert but is dealing with dehydration, along with a significant tick and hookworm infestation. Right now, he's receiving essential care, including fluids and medication to tackle his parasites. This ongoing treatment requires a supportive environment, which the shelter struggles to consistently provide. Gertie is a gentle soul, showing resilience as he navigates his recovery. He needs a compassionate space where he can heal and fully recuperate, ensuring he gets the nutrition and clean environment necessary for his recovery. Time is of the essence, as he is at risk for euthanasia due to the required level of care. If you feel drawn to help Gertie, please reach out by emailing dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information for more details.
