About Bernie

Meet Bernie: Your New Best Friend and Professional Taste Tester. At five-ish years old, this handsome black-and-white Cocker Spaniel has his priorities figured out: snacks, snuggles, and more snacks. He’s rocking a slightly "festive" figure—let's just say he's built for comfort, not for speed. What he lacks in aerodynamics, he more than makes up for with a tail that never stops moving. It’s powered by pure joy and the distant sound of a cheese wrapper opening. Bernie needs to shed a few pounds but is eager about walks and playtime. He has been spoiled with a lot of people food, so he’s often skeptical when his foster parents serve dog food. This guy is 300% food motivated; he’ll take whatever food you have, food he's sniffed out, or even old scraps he finds on the ground. With his long spaniel ears, Bernie will need regular ear maintenance along with grooming. He’s house and crate trained and does well with other dogs. He even gets along with the toddler in his foster home, though the little one sometimes struggles with Bernie's overzealous kisses. Older kids might be a better match for him. Bernie enjoys car rides too, especially if they're steering clear of the vet's office. Found as an unclaimed stray, he's currently overcoming a double ear infection and working on his fitness routine. He knows there’s a loving family out there ready for an extra-large Cocker who’s in need of some care! Click apply to start the adoption process.
