About Wilbur
Meet Wilbur, the Chihuahua mix who seems to think he’s a cat. At about 2 years old and 13 pounds, this charming guy enjoys watching over his surroundings from a safe distance before deciding to join in. He believes that friendship is built slowly, rather than rushed. Coming from a hoarding background, Wilbur has made strides in learning that the world can be a safe place. He’s getting comfortable with visitors, sharing the couch, and even sneaking in a curious sniff or two while quietly observing conversations. Just like the cat he resembles, he prefers to decide when he wants to be the center of attention. Wilbur is house-trained, trustworthy when left to roam freely, and gets along well with both cats and dogs. He benefits from having another calm, confident dog around to help build his trust in the world. His ideal home is patient and gentle, allowing him to unfold at his own pace. If children are part of the household, they should be older and understand how to respect his space. While he’s a healthy young dog, he does require daily eye drops in one eye, which he manages like a pro. Wilbur is perfect for someone looking for a low-key companion who provides calm energy and quiet loyalty over time. If you’re ready to welcome this affectionate friend into your life, you’ll find that he brings immense emotional payoff with patience. Wilbur is currently in foster care in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. We do not transport dogs.* What are you waiting for? Apply today!
