About Pastrami
Pastrami is a 9-month-old male Domestic Short Hair orange tabby who’s on a journey to find his confidence. He’s quite shy around people but is slowly starting to warm up to the idea that humans aren’t so scary. It’s a gradual process; small wins like jumping on the bed and sticking around when you’re nearby are big victories for him. Having been rescued with his siblings at a young age, Pastrami missed some important socialization. He thrives in the company of other cats and loves to play with them, often curling up or chasing toys together. While he’s been around small dogs and larger calm dogs without issue, he prefers a quieter home where he can feel safe. Sudden movements or loud noises can startle him. Lickable treats are his weakness, and they're helping in his journey to enjoy being pet, although he will dart away if you move too quickly. If you’re interested in meeting Pastrami, he’s at the Happy Cat Cafe in Grand Rapids, MI. He’s ready for a patient adopter to help him bloom into the confident companion he can be.
