About Opal
Opal is a lovely girl who found her way to rescue after her owner passed away, and the family no longer wanted her. After years living tied up on a porch in Houston, it's heartwarming to see Opal adapting so well. She has wonderful house manners and is housebroken, possibly due to her past as a beloved household companion. At over 8 years old, Opal carries the weight of her experiences but has a gentle spirit and a love for cozying up in her bed. She's currently undergoing treatment for heartworms, and with the right care, she's sure to thrive in her golden years. We believe she may be a Shar-Pei or Chow mix, perhaps with a hint of Shepherd, sporting a lovely brindle coat. Though she enjoys a little playtime with other dogs, Opal mostly prefers a relaxed day snuggling. While she does well with other dogs and gets along with children, Opal does not get along with cats or livestock. She would make a perfect companion for someone seeking a calm presence in their home. Let’s help her find that special family who will cherish her. Ready to make her feel loved? Apply today!
