About River
Meet River. This sweet girl has already shown she’s the family dog everyone dreams of. Rescued from the San Antonio River, she entered foster care having never known the safety of a home. Through it all, River’s gentle spirit and loving nature have never wavered. In her foster home, her personality shines brighter every day. River loves to be close to her humans, whether that means soaking up belly rubs or relaxing beside you after a walk. She's incredibly affectionate and thrives on companionship. Dog-friendly and sociable, River has performed wonderfully in shelter playgroups, greeting everyone with her wagging tail and calm demeanor. Recently, she spent a day with a family of five and was described as relaxed, playful, and cuddly. Her leash manners are commendable as she pulls only occasionally when something catches her interest. At roughly two years old, River embodies the perfect mix of playful energy and calm relaxation. She’s ready for a day full of adventure, but she’s equally content to curl up with you at night. Now, River is looking for a forever home where she can share her loving heart. If you’re seeking a loyal companion to complete your family, River is the one. River is fostered through Pep's Pals Rescue and is ready to find her forever family. Adoption fee is $350, which includes spay, vaccinations, microchip, and heartworm prevention (as age appropriate). Transport is available to many states. Don’t wait too long to bring this brave girl home!
