About Duke
Meet Duke! This gentle Great Pyrenees weighs around 90 lbs and is nearly 3 years old. He’s sweet and mellow, making him a perfect companion. Duke is great with children, including babies; he's careful and calm, often laying his head in your lap or resting by your feet. He enjoys the company of other dogs, playing nicely at the dog park and doing well alongside the younger and more energetic dogs in his foster home. He’s unfazed by smaller dogs and finds cats a bit dull. Duke loves to lounge around, often acting like a throw rug rather than an active participant in play. While he likes toys, his true happiness comes from just chilling near you. Duke has a curiosity for exploration and has been known to nudge food off counters if given the chance. For this reason, ensure your backyard is secure. He isn't a fan of being crated, often injuring himself to escape, but he does well when left alone in the house and doesn’t mind car rides. He’ll walk with you for as long as you’d like but prefers to keep it casual. Duke has always had another dog around, so he would thrive best in a home with a canine companion. Currently in a foster home in the DFW area of Texas, Duke is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He’s ready for a loving home!
