About Captain

Meet Captain, a 2.5-year-old male Saint Bernard and German Shepherd mix currently residing at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager to find his forever home. Captain is truly a lovable giant, weighing in at 104 pounds. He brings laughter and joy with his goofy personality. This sweet dog is looking for an adopter who understands the nuances of large breeds, especially when it comes to impulsive behavior and improving leash manners. He has a history of getting along well with other dogs and young kids, so he's ready to share his adventures with an active family. However, keep in mind that cats are not on Captain's friend list. Captain's favorite pastimes include playful antics that will keep you entertained and being a cuddly companion despite his size. After a day of fun, he’ll likely stretch out dramatically on the floor, ready to relax like he’s just braved the high seas. If you have the space in your home for this big-hearted and slightly slobbery sea captain, he is ready to make a loving addition to your crew. Adoption hours are from 12 PM to 4:30 PM daily, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is necessary. When adopted, Captain will be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, plus you'll receive a post-adoption veterinary exam certificate. Supplies like food are available for the first few days to help you and Captain get settled. He’s waiting for you to come aboard!
