Meet Avery! This charming 8-year-old lady weighs in at 7.6 lbs and may have some Pekingese in her mix. She came to our rescue from a breeder and is currently working on house training and leash walking. Avery is a bit shy and really needs a patient adopter who has experience with reserved dogs. In her foster home, she is starting to come out of her shell, showing progress after about a week. Avery enjoys making her own space in her crate, often collecting socks and other items for play. She has shown a good attitude around other dogs—even the sassy chiweenie in her foster home. While she was initially fearful of the back door, she now goes in and out on her own. Avery thrives in calm environments, and would do best with an older couple or a quiet household with older kids. She's ready for adoption in North Dartmouth on July 17th.
