Monte Cristo may have a fancy name, but this little guy embraces life in its simplest form: love, attention, and finding a family to call his own. At 6 years old and weighing 18 pounds, Monte Cristo was discovered as a stray in South LA before being rescued. Unfortunately, he suffered a severe eye injury that resulted in the removal of one eye, and his remaining eye has no vision, leaving him completely blind. Despite these challenges, he shows incredible resilience. With a curious and brave spirit, he explores his surroundings using his other senses, proving that being blind doesn't hinder his joyful spirit. Monte Cristo adores people and thrives on human interaction. He loves to hear your voice and enjoys being close to his humans. When you take a moment to sit with him, he’s all in—ready to play, give kisses, and remind you just how deserving he is of affection. He also gets along well with other dogs, preferring the company of mellow pals who’ll join him for cozy naps after a day of fun. Daily eye drops are part of his routine, but Monte Cristo is a champ when it comes to handling them. His ideal home is one where his family is around often, and he can safely explore without any stairs.
