Meet Brenda! Brenda is a charming Shih Tzu and Miniature Poodle mix eager for a new beginning. Rescued as a stray, she initially found shelter life a bit daunting. However, after receiving personal attention, her sweet personality began to emerge. She was a true lady during her ride to the adoption center, soaking up affection and showing her gentle nature. Recently, Brenda enjoyed a spa day that transformed her heavily matted coat into a beautiful curly fur. To maintain her fresh look and comfort, she'll need regular grooming every 6-8 weeks. At approximately 3 years old, Brenda is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She did test positive for heartworms, but the good news is the Jefferson SPCA covers treatment costs through participating vets. Her adopter only needs to purchase a 12-month supply of heartworm prevention at the treatment's start. Brenda is still adjusting to her new environment, and while she may be cautious at first, she quickly shows her affectionate side to those she trusts.
