About Dixie
Dixie is a charming Chihuahua mix currently in foster care in Newark, DE. This sweet girl weighs 23 pounds and is on a weight loss plan, enjoying frozen green beans and weight management food. Recently, she had a stage 1 cancerous mass removed; thankfully, the margins were clean, and sheβs on the mend. Dixie is back to her playful self after cherry eye surgery and a recent cyst removal. While Dixie loves being around people and is gentle with kisses, she does occasionally nip when it comes to taking medication, so a home without children is best for her. She's generally good with other dogs, though she craves attention and prefers close companionship. She's also fine with cats. Dixie is mostly house trained but may have rare accidents, so patience during her adjustment is key. This adorable dog is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can thrive and receive plenty of love. She's low-energy, travels well, and, when given attention, can quietly enjoy her time as a lap dog. If you're ready to embrace her unique personality, Dixie is waiting for you!
