About Percy
Meet Percy, the embodiment of delightful oddity. As a 3-year-old, 31-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix, he may not be groomed for a dog show, but he's definitely a contender for "Most Likely to Steal Your Heart." Percy is uniquely charming. Imagine a Corgi and a Pit Bull mingling and producing a quirky low-rider. With his short legs and big personality, he has a few bumps, skin tags, and a hairless middle, which makes him resemble a tiny piglet when napping. This affectionate fellow is a certified kiss connoisseur. Once you earn his trust, be prepared for face kisses, neck kisses, and the demand for belly rubs. He loves to follow you, acting as your enthusiastic sidekick in any activity. Percy enjoys car rides and walks, and he’s eager to sniff everything around him. He walks well on a leash, though sandy beaches aren't his favorite—those little legs have their standards. Interestingly, he has a low prey drive, ignoring rabbits and toys with the same bewilderment as a math problem. At home, you’ll find him lounging on the couch, keeping an eye on the neighborhood from his beloved armchair, or indulging in a nap. Though he’s fine in a crate, he’s loving his newfound freedom in foster care. He may feel the urge to re-establish his territory if there's another dog at home, so expect to break out the enzymatic cleaner. New people and children can initially overwhelm Percy, so he’ll need gradual introductions. But once you’re in his good books, you’ll find a devoted companion bursting with affection. Percy doesn’t want a cookie-cutter family. He yearns for those who cherish uniqueness and realize that unforgettable pets often defy the mold. If you've dreamed of inviting a quirky, low-riding cuddle buddy into your life, Percy is ready to bring love and joy into your home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
