About Diego

Diego is a vibrant and handsome Portuguese Waterdog mix, likely with some Poodle and Labrador in the mix. At just under two years old, he boasts a luxurious, long black coat that’s soft to the touch and bounces with energy. Weighing around 55 pounds now, he might reach 60 to 65 pounds once fully grown. His big dark eyes and cuddly nature make him as endearing as a teddy bear. Diego is an adventurous spirit, full of playfulness and enthusiasm. After letting loose, he settles down nicely, enjoying some calm moments, especially when cuddling up for big hugs on his hind legs. He’s housebroken, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Although he’s soon to be neutered, he’ll thrive in a dog-loving home where someone understands that he may need time to acclimate. Please note that Diego is currently located out of town but can be transported to you with the help of our Houston-based rescue, Twilight Tails. The adoption fee is $495, plus a health certificate and transport costs. Once your application is approved, we can set up a FaceTime session for you to meet him.
