About Silas
Meet Silas. If youāre searching for a quiet, loyal companion, Silas might be your perfect match. This handsome, fluffy black cat has a soft, easy-to-care-for coat and an even softer heart. Silas was born in the woods and trapped when he was around 12 weeks old, so he's a bit cautious with new people and places. However, once he knows youāre safe, he reveals himself as one of the sweetest, most devoted cats you could wish for. He isnāt a cat that longs to be picked up and carried around, but he adores being close to his humans. You'll find him curling up in your lap or napping beside you as you read or watch TV. He currently takes pride in being my studio assistant. Silas has charming ways of asking for attention; if he feels overlooked, heāll gently swish his fluffy tail across your leg (or even your face) as a reminder. He'll softly tap your leg with his paw, signaling that heād like some pets. He even knows to hop up beside you when you pat the couch or chair. When settled next to you, Silas often communicates with slow blinks and drifts off to sleep, purring contentedly. He gets along well with other cats but, being a confident fellow, can occasionally assert himself over timid cats. He coexists peacefully with our large senior dogs and young Chihuahua mix, and in a noisy moment, he simply seeks a quieter retreat. Given his calm and gentle demeanor, Silas would do best in a quieter home. Respectful older childrenātweens and teensāwho understand cat body language would make great companions for him. A busy, loud household might overwhelm him. Silas isnāt a special-needs cat, but he thrives with a diet enhanced by a probiotic and fiber supplement for a happy tummy. His left eye has been slightly runny since his kitten days, but itās easily managed with a warm cloth once a day, which also turns into a pleasant petting session. Sadly, Silas has been overlooked for years simply because heās a black cat. Unlike his more outgoing peers, he waits patiently for the right adopter to see how special he is. This gentle soul deserves a home filled with love, attention, and joy. If youāre ready for a faithful companion who fills your space with gentle purrs, slow blinks, and unconditional love, Silas is waiting for you.
