Ludwig is a striking St. Bernard with a big heart, though he often hides behind a shy demeanor. At four years old, he may be completely deaf, which changes how he perceives the world around him. Due to his reserved nature, he doesn’t quickly warm up to newcomers and prefers to avoid being the center of attention at gatherings. Patience and experience are essential to help him build trust at his own pace. Once you earn Ludwig's trust, he reveals his playful spirit, filled with goofy antics and an abundance of affection. His foster notes that he becomes a delightful, oversized love bug who truly transforms once he feels secure. He enjoys the company of dogs of all sizes and seems friendly with other animals. Ludwig is a fan of daily walks and loves to play outside. He behaves well on a leash and is crate-trained. Driven by food motivation, he thrives in a structured environment where he can gradually learn to communicate. He does have a few charming quirks: he sheds, drools, and can be a bit clumsy.
