About Gertrude

Gertrude is an 11-month-old spayed female dog who has faced her share of challenges. Abandoned with a broken leg, she was rescued from a Kentucky shelter and has been healing in a foster home. This friendly girl is mostly housetrained, though she is still learning leash manners. With a short coat and a striking tricolor pattern, she’s not likely to grow much larger than her current medium size. Her sweet and affectionate nature makes her a joy around people and other dogs. However, due to her medical condition, a home with very young children is not recommended. A secure, fenced yard will provide her the space she needs to thrive. She’s on a good quality diet to help her reach a healthy weight. This young lady is ready for a loving home where she can continue to heal and grow. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
