About Zeus
Zeus is a striking 5-year-old male Doberman, characterized by his cropped ears and docked tail. Weighing in at around 110 lbs, he’s on the larger side, embodying the gentle giant persona. A true sweet goofball, Zeus quickly warms up to people and loves leaning against you for affection. He thrives indoors, relishing the comfort of air conditioning more than adventures outside. However, he's always game for a little outside fun if there's a critter to chase. Zeus does need supervision outdoors, as he might dig out if left unattended. He tends to get along well with female dogs but has a strong aversion to males, needing to be the only male dog in the home. While he's good with older kids, he can be a bit rough for smaller ones, so careful consideration is needed when children are around. No cats or small animals, please, as his prey drive is high. Zeus had an unfortunate encounter with a swimming pool in his younger days, so he’ll bark if he sees anyone enter, as if to warn them. Zeus's history in rescue involves some challenges, particularly same-sex aggression that required his separation from his brother to maintain peace. He simply needs a home where he can thrive independently. He knows basic commands like sit, wait, and stay, walks well on a head halter, and enjoys crate time. His house manners are excellent—he's potty trained and doesn’t beg or counter surf. Before adoption, Zeus will be neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies and Bordetella. Are you ready to give Zeus the loving home he deserves?
