Scout is an adult Pomeranian who is looking for a very special home. After being surrendered by a good Samaritan, he faced a challenging adjustment, including an attack by a larger dog that left him fearful of both people and large dogs. His past as a breeding dog, kept mostly in confinement, has contributed to his anxiety. Scout is working on his house training but currently prefers to relieve himself indoors. He isn't a lap dog and is uncomfortable being held, although he does allow himself to be picked up. Scout needs a secure, fenced-in yard to prevent him from escaping, as he tends to panic on a leash. He shows potential to lead a more typical dog life with patience and dedication, so a caring adopter willing to invest time and possibly engage a trainer would be ideal. Scout has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. While he gets along with other dogs, he is not suitable for homes with children.
