Nala
AvailableNala is a young, 1-year-and-2-month-old spayed female mixed-breed dog with a medium build. She has a beautiful black and white coat. Nala is house trained and has been vaccinated. Located in Stephens City, VA, she is ready for a loving forever home.
About Nala
Nala recently came to the shelter as an owner surrender in South Texas, so her history is a bit of a mystery. Since then, she has been under the care of an independent rescuer, and I've had the joy of fostering her in Magnolia, TX for about a week. Nala is a timid, young pup who can be scared of loud noises and quick movements. Yet, she remains incredibly sweet and loving. One of her greatest joys is snuggling up on the couch, where she can spend hours curled next to anyone willing to sit still. Nala is both house trained and crate trained, and she prefers to eat her meals in her crate. She's been around children, cats, chickens, and other dogs, adapting well with all. A quiet home with patient people and pets is essential for her. She's looking for a family that can help her feel secure in a world that seems overwhelming at times. While another independent dog at home could help guide her, she would also thrive as the sole pet, soaking up the love and attention from her humans. Due to her shyness, she would do best in a household with older children. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Nala
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Nala, being a mixed-breed dog with traits from both Border Collies and Black Labrador Retrievers, is best suited for a calm and supportive home environment. Her timid nature makes her thrive in quieter settings.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Nala would benefit from a secure, fenced yard where she can safely explore and play, but since she's timid, she may also enjoy indoor activities with her family.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Yes, but due to her shyness, Nala would do best in a home with older children who understand her fearful nature and can interact with her gently.
