About Fern

Meet Fern, an 8½-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon mix. She’s a loving and gentle soul, easily one of the sweetest dogs you could encounter. Fern can be a bit shy initially, but give her a few days, and she will warm up, eventually becoming your loyal companion. Adjusting to household sounds like the TV and vacuum can be a challenge for her, as she’s still getting used to the hustle and bustle of home life. Fern is mostly a couch potato who loves to stay nearby, preferring close cuddles over toys. For her wellbeing, a home with another dog for companionship is ideal. She does well with cats too. While Fern walks nicely on a leash, she feels nervous during potty breaks, so a fenced yard would suit her best. She’s potty trained and hasn’t had any accidents, although she doesn’t yet signal when she needs to go out, so taking her outside every three hours is recommended. Fern currently enjoys snoozing beside her foster siblings. Fern hasn’t interacted with children, so her capacity to adapt to kids remains uncertain, but her gentle demeanor could make her compatible with older, respectful children. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Fern is eagerly waiting for a loving home that fits her needs. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
