Meet Marco, a 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix in need of a loving home. This handsome boy has faced challenges, arriving at the shelter as a stray in rough shape, yet he's remained friendly and loving with everyone around him. He's enthusiastic about meeting new people and thrives on attention. Treats are currently his love language, making him eager to learn—training should be a joy with Marco! While he hasn't been officially tested with other dogs yet, staff believes he'll do well with proper introductions. He hasn't met any cats in the shelter, but they’ll update his profile as they learn more. Though he hasn't been around children, they expect he'd be fine with respectful kids who understand dog boundaries. Marco's time in the shelter has been stressful, and while he might have some potty training to work on, the staff is confident that with a consistent schedule and positive reinforcement, he'll adapt quickly. This boy is ready for a fresh start, and he's looking for someone to help him write his next chapter. Marco is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. The adoption fee is $100. He has tested positive for Lyme disease but is currently undergoing treatment with Doxycycline. His new family will need to keep him on yearly Lyme and tick/heartworm prevention.
