About Ban

Meet Old Man Ban! This lovely large Pit Bull Terrier is around 8 to 10 years old, having been found outside a shelter in Philadelphia. He spent weeks patiently waiting for someone to take him home, and when that didn't happen, we were thrilled to welcome him into our rescue. Ban is a joyful companion who adapts easily to his environment. He's friendly with dogs, cats, and kids, making him an ideal family pet. With an equal love for play and naptime, you'll find him chewing a bone on his bed or frolicking in the yard with his younger dog foster sibling. He also enjoys spending time lounging while his foster dad works, and car rides—especially in a truck—are top of his list. You might catch him soaking up the sun in the driveway or snuggled up on the couch like a burrito. If you’re seeking a laid-back dog who can just as easily join you on adventures or relax at home, Ban is your guy! He has recently been fully vetted, including a dental and surgery to remove benign masses. While he did test positive for a low-grade mast cell tumor, he’s otherwise healthy and ready for a new chapter. Ban is currently available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Ready to find out more? Click apply to start the adoption process.
