About Henrietta Hippo

Meet Henrietta Hippo! Don’t let that name fool you; she’s more like a gazelle than a hippo these days. When this 18-month-old Lab/Retriever mix arrived, she was essentially all skin and hope, battling severe flea allergic dermatitis that left her nearly bald. But Henrietta’s spirit shone brightly through it all. From the start, she greeted everyone with a wagging tail and a goofy grin, filling the room with her love. Even during her tough beginnings, her joyful personality never wavered. As her coat has grown back and her health has improved, she’s transformed into the happy, playful young dog she was meant to be. Henrietta adores toys and playtime, always making new friends along the way. Whether she’s zooming around the yard, soaking up affection, or convincing you she’s a lap dog, she approaches life with enthusiasm. Her past may have left her a little short on fur, but not on love. Henrietta Hippo is ready to swap her challenging beginnings for a life filled with belly rubs, adventures, and a family who will cherish her forever. If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate companion with an incredible comeback story, Henrietta is ready to waddle right into your heart.
