Peadar is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours! Scroll through his pictures to see his cute video content! Peadar originally came to us from Chicago Animal Care and Control in 2024. As you can see from some of his videos from his stay with us in 2024, we had Peadar meet all types of dogs. He is truly amazing with them. He is not rough or rowdy, he is actually very soft and gentle! He is a gentle soul all around, and we love him so so much. Peadar did amazingly well at adoption events when he was with us, and met toddlers and small children. His adopters said he has done well with kids in their care. Peadar is such a gem. After being in our care for a couple of weeks back in 2024, he soon went to a foster home with a wonderful couple and another Heartland alum, Rikki. This couple fell in love with Peadar and adopted him, and we thought the rest was history. Sadly, two years later, one of Peadar and Rikki's owners passed away and the other's health is suffering, so she made the incredibly heartbreaking decision to return them to our care. It was obvious both of them have been well loved. Peadar is unchanged from the dog we knew and loved two years ago: he is affectionate, friendly, and social. They arrived in great health, with immaculately kept vet records. These dogs have been so well cared for, and it shows in their personalities. Despite not understanding why he's back at Heartland, Peadar is still the happy go lucky, sweet boy we all remember. He is still so handsome, with his golden eyes, radar ears, and striking soft red and white coat. He likes playing with toys, cuddling, and hanging out wherever his people are. When we brought Peadar to Heartland from CACC, we promised he would always be safe and loved, and we promised the same to his adopters when they entrusted him back to our care. If you are looking for a loyal sidekick, someone who has enough energy to play with some toys, but is also happy to be your companion couch potato, you can't do much better than Peadar. He's meant to live in a home - Could it be yours? Peadar's adoption fee has been generously sponsored by The Rosenthal Family Foundation. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
