Meet Schultz, a handsome 5 year old lab mix. Schultz originally came into rescue in 2021 as a puppy who was dumped with his mom (Journey, now Dori) and his siblings They all went to a foster home where they were well cared for and thrived. Schultz was adopted by a lovely young couple in 2021 who absolutely have adored him since they adopted him. Unfortunately, the family dynamics have changed and Schultz is very stressed out by the chaos of 3 young children. He either wants to get away from them or to herd them, and it just isn't a good situation for Schultz or the chldren. (The family has gone above and beyond to try to make this work, but it just isn't the right environment for Schultz.). We are looking for a new home for Schultz; one with no young children, and one where he can get the attention and exercise that he craves. Schultz is such a great dog! He has developed into a handsome 70+ pound boy. His owners describe him as being the sweetest boy ever! He absolutley loves people and BALLS! He walks well on leash and enjoys going out for a stroll. If someone wants to take him for a run, he enjoys that too. He can be energetic, so it's important for Schultz to get proper exercise. Schultz is dog social - he was attending doggie daycare for awhile. Cats are a NO, as he thinks they are toys and wants to chase them. Schultz is completely potty trained. He sleeps on a dog bed in a human's room or on the couch. He has always had free roam of the house, and has never chewed up anything or had any issures! Schultz has been treated for a thyroid condition and is on medication to manage that. The owners reported that the medication costs them around $35 a month. He should have his blood levels checked every 6 months or so to monitor the correct dosage. The family has some medication and other supplies that they are willing to send with Schultz.
