Meet Gaia, a sweet 2-year-old torbie mama who found her way to us from River Rouge with her tiny babies. When she first arrived, Gaia was in rough shape and had clearly faced many challenges in life. Thanks to proper nutrition, veterinary care, and the kindness of a loving foster home, she has made an inspiring recovery. Now, she is healthy, happy, and flourishing. Gaia adores attention and has a charming habit of giving tiny "love nibbles" when she’s particularly joyful during petting sessions. She enjoys lounging around, soaking up affection, and relishing the calm indoor life she truly deserves—far from the dangers and uncertainties of the streets. As an FIV-positive cat, Gaia's status may raise eyebrows, but the reality is often more positive than people think. Many FIV-positive cats lead fulfilling and happy lives with the right care. It’s crucial to keep them healthy with good nutrition and regular veterinary check-ups. It’s important to note that FIV is not contagious to humans, dogs, or other non-feline pets.
