About Daisy

Daisy is the kind of dog who takes a little time to show you who she really is — and when she does, you’ll be so glad you waited. This sweet, quirky six-year-old has a personality all her own: a little shy at first, a little unpredictable in the best way, and completely lovable once she decides you’re her people. She gets along with males dogs only She marches to the beat of her own drum, but what she wants most is simple — a soft bed, a warm lap, and someone patient enough to earn her trust. Coming from a breeding situation, her early life wasn’t easy, and she carries a little wariness because of it. Consistency and calm are what she needs to fully come out of her shell, and when she does, the snuggles are very much worth it. At home, Daisy is quieter and calmer than you might expect from the breed. She does have a tendency to find herself a tucked-away spot and disappear into it — hide-and-seek is apparently her favorite game. She’s working on her potty training and her manners, and she’ll need a patient adopter who’s willing to reinforce good habits with gentleness and routine. On leash, she walks beautifully — once you get the harness on, that is. Walk anticipation hits her hard and she simply cannot contain herself, which is honestly pretty endearing. She does well with similarly-sized male dogs, but reacts to large breeds, so a calmer, smaller-dog household would suit her best. Daisy is fully spayed, up to date on vaccinations and medications, and ready to find her forever home — she just needs someone who understands that the best things take a little time. Daisy’s ideal home: Patient and consistent adopters, calm environment, smaller dog companions welcome, no large breeds. A family or individual who will give her the security to finally exhale. Daisy gets along with male dogs only. Being fostered near Lake Lure.
