Available 6/29/26 Meet Penelope: Professional Shadow, Blanket Burrower, and Full-Time Lap Inspector At 2.5 years old and a petite 13 pounds, Penelope is a Rat Terrier mix with the long-legged elegance of a baby deer and a one-of-a-kind coat that makes people stop and ask, "What kind of dog is she?" Her answer would probably be, "The kind that belongs in your lap." Penelope is what experts in the dog world call a Velcro dog. What does that mean? If you move, she moves. If you sit, she sits. If you go to the bathroom, congratulationsyou now have an audience. Her life goal is simple: be wherever her favorite human happens to be, preferably touching them. This sweet girl is low-energy and fully committed to the couch-potato lifestyle. Her favorite hobbies include cuddling under the covers, supervising household activities from a warm lap, and making sure you never experience the inconvenience of being alone. Penelope gets along wonderfully with kids, dogs, and cats. She's polite with other dogs, but she'd also be perfectly happy as an only child. Sharing toys? Sure. Sharing treats? Fine. Sharing her human's lap? Let's not get carried away. She's crate trained but doesn't really need one thanks to her excellent house manners. In her foster home, she's flawlessly potty trained with a doggie door, though she'll likely appreciate a little patience while learning the rules in a new home. Once she trusts you, she walks nicely on a harness and is happy to join you on adventuresas long as they don't interfere too much with cuddle time. Penelope could thrive in an apartment or a house, and while she doesn't have separation anxiety, she'd love a family where someone is home more often than not. After all, what's the point of having a human if they're gone all day?
