ABOUT QUESO FRESCO! Meet Queso Fresco, our sweet orange boy! This handsome guy was brought into HAP as a stray, so we don't know what his past looked like. He had a bit of a hard time adjusting to shelter life in the beginning, but once he realized he was safe (and well fed!), he's come out of his shell! Queso Fresco is a shy guy, but once you pet him a few times, he's a big lover boy! He is easily won over by food, and he loves when his human friends hang out with him while he eats. He isn't the biggest fan of being held, but he's very polite about letting you know! He is always willing to snuggle on the couch, though! *Queso Fresco is FIV+, which means his autoimmune system is weaker than the average cat. If he gets sick, it can take longer for him to get over it. It is transmittable to other cats through deep biting, it is not transmittable to dogs or humans. With regular vet visits, he will likely live a long and happy life! *Queso Fresco gets along with cats and calm kids. We don't recommend dogs, as he is a nervous guy. *If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
