Tiana, known as Hazel in her foster home, has learned to walk nicely on a leash (especially when her leash is attached to the front hook of her harness), stopping to sniff every now and then but will get back on track with a light tug and "come!" She will bring her leash if she needs to go out as long as it’s in her reach and prefers walks to be short-and-sweet when the weather is cold. Hazel has also learned some basic commands, including sit, down, paw, other paw, and stay. She also has learned that when we tell her "go to your house" that she must go to her crate. We use this command to direct her to her house during bedtime or whenever she is left alone. While she will listen if she isn’t allowed on the couch, she definitely loves cuddling up next to you on the couch and has done well sleeping through the night on the bed too. She also does really well on car rides, she may just need a bit of help getting in and out in taller vehicles. She even traveled out of state during the holidays and was incredibly well behaved during the long car ride— after settling in, she slept peacefully for most of the ride just checking the surroundings every now and then.
