Meet Cocoa A Little Survivor with a Big Heart At just 16 months old and 23 pounds, Cocoa may be petite, but she has one of the sweetest hearts youll ever meet. Cocoa came to us from Saint Lucia after spending the first eight months of her life confined to a dark box before finally being rescued and given a chance at a better life. Despite such a difficult beginning, Cocoa is embracing everything that comes with being a loved dog. Every day she discovers something new to enjoy. She absolutely loves toys, delights in running and playing with her canine friends, and would thrive in a home with another playful, confident dog to continue showing her the joys of family life. She is wonderful with dogs of all personalities playful with younger dogs, respectful of the older grumpy dogs in her foster home, and she has shown zero aggression. Cocoa is fully potty trained, sleeps peacefully through the night without a crate, and walks beautifully on a leash. She has a playful puppy side and enjoys her zoomies, toys, and exploring her surroundings. She also has a silly side that we like to call her superhero powers: supersonic hearing, lightning-fast zoomies, and impressive leaps that seem to defy gravity! Cocoa is still gaining confidence as she experiences the world, and she will do best with a patient, loving family who understands that some dogs just need a little extra time to settle in and blossom. A fenced yard is strongly preferred and kept on a leash for walks (due to needing to continue to build confidence). Because Cocoa loves companionship, she would be happiest in a home where she is included as part of daily life and not left alone for long periods. The family lucky enough to earn her trust will discover a loyal, affectionate little companion who gives love with her whole heart. Her past may be heartbreaking, but it does not define her.
