King came to BDRR in February 2026 as an owner surrender, and he's been showing us that beneath his serious side is a calm, loyal companion who just needs the right person to understand him. He has a lower energy level and when it comes to other dogs, King is neutral-he may briefly acknowledge them but is just as happy to do his own thing and coexist peacefully. King does have some sensitivities and will need an experienced, patient home to help him feel safe and supported. More importantly, King has strong feelings around food and high-value items. He may guard food and can become defensive if approached while eating or in confined spaces like a crate or small room. Because of this, he will need a home that understands behavior management and is committed to continuing his training in a structured, positive way. With the right person, King has the potential to be a deeply loyal and rewarding companion. He just needs someone willing to meet him where he is and guide him forward.
