With her soft eyes and gentle tail wags, Jakayla is a tender soul who just wants to be close. She can be a little unsure in new situations and loud noises may startle her, but give her a moment and she'll lean into your presence with quiet trust. She's calm, low-energy, and easy on leash, a total sweetheart who prefers people to chaos. Jakayla greets other dogs politely and disengages easily, making her a great walking buddy. Treats are appreciated, but it's human affection that truly wins her over. She caught my eye when I was walking by her kennel and she was sitting calmly like a beautiful angel. She is such a delicate gal and allowed me to leash her with ease and walked like a true lady on the leash. Her tail didn't stop wagging the entire time we were together. We spent time in the smaller yard together where we sat on the little dog bed, fed her treats that she took super gently and snuggled for a while. She loves getting pets all over and crawls more on your lap whenever your stop petting her because she wants more pets. I'm obsessed with her. 07/18/2025 volunteer notes: Jakayla had soft eyes and low tail wags at the kennel door. Easy to leash. Got unsure about the doorway and a little scared when the door slammed, she retreated, and I had to use loose pressure to get her outside. Outside there was a dog almost right away, and they gave a good fence greeting -low tail wags, and nose boops. She was very easy to disengage and keep walking. Today she was overall very calm and low energy. She just wants to be close to humans. Took treats nicely. Human affection is the way to her heart. She was easy to walk back inside to kennel.
