This handsome 10-month-old boy was reportedly a Saint Bernard mix when he entered rescue, but we're honestly not sure where that came from. Lucas has a striking black coat, a beautiful retriever-style face, and some soft curls along his back. If we had to guess, we'd say he looks much more like a flat-coated retriever mix than anything else. Whatever his breed mix may be, one thing is certainhe's absolutely gorgeous. Lucas is what we lovingly call a gentle giant. Despite his size, he has an incredibly laid-back, easygoing personality and approaches life with a calm confidence that makes him a joy to be around. He has had no accidents in the house and has settled nicely into a routine. He's also learning to walk well on a leash and continues to gain confidence every day. Stairs weren't his favorite thing at first, but he's already figuring those out and making great progress. One of Lucas's best qualities is his temperament. He's not overly busy or demanding. Instead, he's the kind of dog who is content to hang out with his people, make friends with everyone he meets, and bring a little extra joy wherever he goes. He gets along beautifully with both dogs and cats, making him a wonderful candidate for a variety of homes.
